Politicians are typically coy when it comes to the vexed question of when they intend to retire from the rough and tumble of politics.
Not Duale.
After the historic election of the so-called digital duo, Uhuru and Ruto, in 2013, outspoken Garissa Township Member of Parliament and Leader of the Majority revealed just when he would hang his political boots.
The highest ranking Jubilee Party member in Parliament told Jackie Maribe that it would be after helping Ruto ascend to the pinnacle of power; the presidency.
"When I help Ruto get the presidency in 2022, I will shake his hand and go home," Duale said.
Duale was instrumental in Jubilee's presidential campaign.
In Garissa, Ruto paid tribute to the loads of work he had done on the campaign trail.
Before the formation of Jubilee Party, Duale was in the United Republican Party (URP), honchoed by Ruto then.
It would be interesting to see whether the Garissa legislator will make good his word should Ruto ascend to the presidency.
