The late Sharon Otieno’s uncle escaped abduction in Nairobi by a whisker after a gang attacked him.
The family said the younger brother to Sharon’s father was on Tuesday last week attacked by men who tried to force him into a waiting car.
The family said the man was arriving home from work when men armed with crude weapons tried to kidnap him into a waiting car.
He raised alarm and the masked men took off.
He lost his phone and wallet.
Police confirmed the incident saying a report was made at Mawe Mbili Police Station on Kangundo Road, OB number 03/20/09/018.
“My brother called me on Wednesday morning to inform me of the incident. This is after he borrowed a phone from a friend since his (phone) had been stolen,” Sharon’s father said.
The incident has left the family shocked as they fear some people might be out to eliminate certain family members they think are helping police with investigations over Sharon’s murder.
“This incident has scared us, adding us more agony. How could my daughter’s killers be so inhuman to the extent of following us up and threatening to kill us? We plead with the police to get to the bottom of this incident,” Otieno added.
Details also emerged that the family is under pressure from people who want the issue of their daughter settled out of court.
The family said their decision not to cede ground has left them a target of threats.
"We live in fear," Sharon’s father said.
