A body of a 45-year-old man was on Wednesday morning found dumped in Kegati, Nyaribari Chache in Kisii County.
Confirming the incident, Kisii Central Police OCPD Francis Nguli said the deceased Johnson Mandwa's body was found dumped in a maize plantation.
"The farm owner who was working at his farm discovered the body and raised an alarm. Cases of people being killed under unclear circumstances are on the rise and those who will be caught killing others will face the law," he said.
According to the OCPD, the deceased might have been killed elsewhere before his body was dumped in the area.
He called on locals to cooperate with police to ensure the killers are nabbed.
"Any local with information about the killing of Mandwa should report to police and his or her identity will not be revealed. We need to end criminal activities across the county," he noted.
The OCPD said the deceased body was taken to Kisii Teaching and referral hospital morgue.
He assured that police officers are working around the clock to ensure the county has enough security.
"Locals should not be scared of their security because police officers and conducting 24 hours security patrols," he added.
