Captain Mario Magonga, a former KDF Colonel, died at Turkana on Sunday evening and his body would be recovered several hours later by search and rescue team.

Mr Albert Nyakundi alias Banana Peddler, a nephew to the deceased, wrote on Facebook that the DP was yet to condole with the family despite Captain Mario Magonga being his long time friend.

"As a family, I am really surprised that DP William Ruto is yet to send message of condolence five days after Mario Magonga crashed and died with four others in Turkana.

"This is quite shocking and we are disappointed DNA test has already been done but the DP yet to speak. I am his supporter but I think something is wrong here," he wrote on Facebook before pulling down the post.

It could not be established immediately why Mr Nyakundi, a renowned blogger, decided to go on public only to pull down the post few hours later.

Burial preparations are ongoing at Magonga's rural home in Nyamataro with Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka leading the funeral programme. Mr Onyonka is the first cousin to the pilot.

Captain Magonga's father, Pius Magonga, was a Brigadier with KDF but died at Mt Elgon home after retiring from the armed forces.
