In a hotly contested Jubilee party primaries in 2017, Kabogo lost to Ferdinand Waititu, a seasoned city politician even though he still insists he was rigged.

"They viewed me as a threat and the task was how to get me out. We saw how they orchastrated the exercise which was supervised by William Ruto," he said on Wednesday at JKL Show.

Mr. Kabogo, a fairly wealthy politician, is viewed as an apparent heir of President Uhuru Kenyatta after the latter's retirement.

But suggestively in the show, Kabogo seemed to blame Uhuru for his woes insisting that it could have resulted from his firmness in making decisions.

"I am not a sycophant and they would have liked me to be one. I am not that guy you will give arbitrary summons and directives. This made it difficult for the system," he claimed.

Asked if he would accept an appointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kabogo flatly rejected adding that he 'is not interested in such positions'.

The former Kiambu boss however said he has nothing against his predecessor Waititu adding that they occasionally consult.
