Students of Maseno University have given mixed reactions after one of their own graduates, Sylvester Langat was on Thursday lynched to death after confessing that he had participated in the gang-raping of three girls in Kericho.
The graduate among other 14 arrested allegedly killed an old woman, injured her husband and gang-raped their three minors were raped in Kericho on Tuesday night.
The student who was a close neighbour admitted taking part in the heinous act before an angry mob lynched him to death.
Immediately after news about his death went viral, Maseno University students did not hesitate to slam the suspect's actions.
Some were of the opinion that he deserved what he got for doing such an inhuman act to fellow human beings.
"The much they did to Kap Mayor in my view the punishment he received wasn't even enough if there was something more, he should have received. Hope they have it in eternity alongside the other three!", said Vincent Omondi
"It is not a good gesture for a graduate to do such things', said Vincent Mutai.
Others faulted the actions he did but felt that he did not deserve such death and that residents could have let the law take its course.
