One Member of Parliament and a currently serving governor from the NEP region have been named by America’s sophisticated investigative agency FBI in the list of notorious drug barons.
According to a newsbreak by local media Television channel, the two politicians from North Eastern region together with several other retired and currently serving top politicians, four Supreme Court judges colluded with the Akasha brothers in their illegal drug trafficking business.
This happens even as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed in a tweet that the Akasha brothers who have since been deported took a guilty plea over drug trafficking in Kenya and several other graft allegations.
“GuiltyAsCharged: The Akasha brothers; Baktash Akasha and Ibrahim Akasha today pleaded guilty to six counts of Drug Trafficking charges in the Southern District of New York. The @DCI_Kenya Director of #AntiNarcoticsUnit had assembled a watertight case in partnership with @UNODC,” DCI tweeted.
