The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) has been recognized for its role in supporting the Regional Blood Transfusion Centre (RBTC) in Eldoret.
The hospital was presented with an award and a recognition certificate from the Kenya National Blood Transfusion Services (KNBTS) on Tuesday.
According to the MTRH Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wilson Aruasa, the feat has been achieved due to the good working relationship between the hospital and the KNBTS.
“| want to personally and on behalf of the hospital thank KNBTS for this award and my administration will continue doing its best to support the Regional Blood Transfusion Centre,” said Dr. Aruasa after receiving the award.
“My administration will sustain the partnership to boost blood drive in the Region,” he added.
Dr. Aruasa was also recognized in person for consistently championing blood campaigns in the region. In recognition of this, he was honored with a certificate and a trophy. Head of RBTC Eldoret, Thomas Rotich, presented the commemorative plaque to him.
Eldoret Regional Blood Transfusion Centre is currently the leading blood collection center in the country.
