For the second day in running, Deputy President William Ruto will be in Gusii, a region he hopes to sway away from Raila.

On Thursday, Ruto visited in Suneka for a fund raiser and will be at Amabuko along Kisii-Nyamira boarder on Friday.

Before his Amabuko tour, Ruto will feature in an interview with Egesa FM, a Royal Media radio station that broadcasts in Ekegusii dialect, popularly used in both Nyamira and Kisii Counties.

For Raila, he will be at the neighbouring Homa Bay for the burial of veteran politician Mzee Aketch Chieng'. It is Raila's third visit to South Nyanza in three weeks.

Next week, both leaders are expected to grace the homecoming ceremony of millionaire businessman Don Bosco Gichana, who was released from Tanzania prison after pleading guilty to money laundering and fraud.

Raila has already confirmed that he will be at Gusii stadium for the mega homecoming event.

For the last few months, the two politicians have engaged fiercely with Ruto accusing Raila of using handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta to force him out of Jubilee.
