As political rivalry between Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho and Deputy President William Ruto continues, it has been revealed that the duo do not follow each other on twitter.
A close look at Governor Joho's official twitter page https://twitter.com/HassanAliJoho/following, it is evident that he has massive followers of over half a million (535K) but only following 111 individuals.
Among those the governor follows include President Uhuru Kenyatta, his party leader Raila Odinga, lawyers Ahmednassir Abdullahi and Donald B. Kipkorir among others.
William Ruto does not feature anywhere in the list, a fact that can be attributed to their long standing political rivalry.
On the other hand DP Ruto https://twitter.com/WilliamsRuto/following has over 2 million followers (2.07M) but ironically following only 73 individuals, among them one politician from the expansive coast region CS Najib Balala.
Ruto's following on CS Balala could be attributed to the role he played in two successive Jubilee campaigns at the coast. Other individuals the DP follows include President Kenyatta, Governor Mike Sonko among others.
The two plan to outdo each other in the 2022 presidential race.
