In a stormy parliament session, Uhuru's proposals on the controversial bill sailed through after Speaker Justin Muturi upheld the controversial vote.

And West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi said legislators opposed to the bill carried the day.

"The president lost but he used unscrupulous means by asking parliament leadership to use orthodox ways of handling the matter.

"All members were present and through acclamation, we defeated those supporting," he argued.

Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka blamed Majority Leader Aden Duale and temporary Speaker Soipan Tuya of conspiring to withdraw members after taking a vote.

"They realised that we'd taken it all only for Duale to withdraw losers from parliament.

"Majority of MPs were in chambers thus telling us we were less that 233 is fallacious. Why then did the speaker ask us to vote?" he wondered.

Others who have expressed their dissatisfaction including Alfa Miruka, Simba Arati and Jerusha Momanyi of Nyamira County.
