Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka's political voyage to State House in 2022 started a long time ago.
One of the forces that could lock Kalonzo from becoming the next president of this nation is Deputy President William Ruto.
Kalonzo only needs a yes from the retired President Daniel Arap Moi to silence Ruto ahead of 2022 elections.
Moi and Ruto have not been in good books for a long time.
Moi's son, Gideon, also Baringo Senator, has equally hinted at contesting for the country’s top seat.
Kalonzo can team up with Gideon to silence Ruto in the Rift Valley.
He will no doubt be a force to reckon with if Moi backs his candidature.
Kalonzo will be better placed to win the seat if President Uhuru Kenyatta and ex-Prime Minister Raila Odinga also join his camp in the next polls.
He still has a long way to go if he wants to make his dream a reality.
The Ukambani political kingpin needs to convince votes from Mt. Kenya, Luo Nyanza, Rift Valley, and Coast among other regions to ensure he beats Ruto.
However, Kalonzo will lose if Uhuru and Raila endorse Ruto to take over power.
