Malindi lawmaker Aisha Jumwa is a notable figure when it comes to the ongoing political 'war' between opposition Chief Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto.
Ever since she was expelled from the ODM party a few months ago, the outspoken law maker has accelerated attacks on Raila’s point men.
In fact, she recently involved herself in a war of words with ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna in a political rally at the coast.
The reason why she is increasingly attacking Raila’s camp is that she feels that the ODM party was too harsh on her. Moreover, she has control over the majority of the electorate in Malindi sub-county.
In the political world, Jumwa wants to test if she can remain politically relevant without Raila or ODM and is distancing herself from Raila’s camp since she is sure that ODM won’t give her a ticket to defend her seat in the next polls.
As a political tactic, she wants a big percentage of her electorate to feel how she has been dumped by ODM and sympathize with her, therefore, she is in a constant exchange of words with Raila’s confidants so as to please DP Ruto’s camp for 2022 relevance.
This is evident since she is frequently accompanying ‘Team Tangatanga’ to various functions.
