Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu is walking tightrope after a section of MCAs vowed to impeach her when they resume sittings on February 13.
According to the lawmakers, Ngilu has failed to accomplish her promises.
The legislators, who are allied to Wiper, have accused the county boss of sidelining some regions in her area of administration since she was elected into office.
Speaking at Mwingi Gardens on Saturday during the issuance of bursaries by area MP Gideon Mulyungi, Kyuso MCA Stephen Kivunzi said the plan to send Ngilu packing is still on course. His remarks were reiterated by his Kanziko counterpart James Munuve who said Ngilu doesn’t deserve to be in office.
They claimed that Ngilu is biased as far as the distribution of resources in the county is concerned.
“We want equitable distribution of county resources. However, since the governor has decided to engage in systematic marginalization of some parts of the county, we have no choice but to impeach her,” Kivunzi said.
The move comes after governors Ngilu, Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) accused Kalonzo of using Wiper MCAs to frustrate their administrations.
The trio claim that the MCAs have been a thorn in their flesh since they were elected.
