In a post on her Facebook page, the Daystar University-trained journalist confirmed that she had been elevated to the role of special features editor.

"God qualifies the called. New role begins as Features Editor at KTN News. So thrilled to be on this learning curve with the great storytellers that are my colleagues. Kazi iendelee, ama namna gani?" she said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

Following her elevation to the new role, Momanyi who joined KTN in 2013 takes over the position that was left vacant by Asha Mwilu who joined rival Citizen TV  a couple of months ago.

Her appointment also comes at a time when the TV station is trying to do some adjustments after being hit by high-profile exits that left a depleted newsroom.

With the new role within Kenya's oldest non-pay privately TV station, claims that the talented journalist could be headed to Citizen TV could be a thing of the past.
