Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has vowed to oppose any push for constitutional reforms ahead of 2022 polls.
Speaking at Our Lady of Rosary Catholic Church in Mua Hills, Machakos County, the former Vice President said it is time to build the nation and not call for reforms as suggested by ODM.
He said the change in the constitution is aimed at derailing the effort of the past governance to transform Kenya through devolution.
"When the time for the debate on the amendment of the Constitution comes, I will stand and oppose any attempts to erode the benefits of devolution," Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo said the suggestion to scrap the post of the nominated members of the Senate and county assemblies is not only ill-timed but also counterproductive.
He raised concern over the funds looted by county bosses in the past and current regimes.
Kalonzo urged Kenyans to back President Uhuru Kenyatta in the fight against graft.
He noted that loss of public funds through dubious deals has been a major blow to this nation.T
he Kamba political kingpin promised to stand with the current regime before completion of President Kenyatta's second term in office.
The call for reforms continues to elicit mixed reactions from different political factions.
