Speaking in a press conference in Nakuru on Wednesday, the MP accused the former Prime Minister of using underhand methods to weaken the ruling Jubilee Party by creating tension and enmity between the two.

He wondered why Raila who is currently ranked among the most experienced leaders in the nation is busy trying to divide the two instead of further uniting them.

"Raila ni mzee na tunamheshimu sana. Lakini ni aibu eti anagonganisha ndugu yake wadogo badala ya kuunganisha (We respect him because he is our elder but its a shame that he is sowing division between his junior leaders)," he said terming it shameful.

Ngunjiri's remarks come at a time when some Jubilee MPs allied to the DP have been accusing Raila of using his 2018 truce with Uhuru to wreck the ruling party.

They have said that the plan is to enable him to lessen the task in the 2022 presidential race.

But Raila and team have maintained that they have nothing to do with the Jubilee troubles, and the party should leave him out of its woes.
