The scandal has reportedly touched on major figures in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government is there are questions on ‘whether to charge or not charge’ the influential people.

The DPP has returned the file on the scandal probing to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) with express instructions to tie loose ends into the case.

However, sources within the office of DPP said the major issue with the case is the people it is touching.

“That will blow off the government,” a source said.

There were reports earlier that more than 10 Cabinet Secretaries are mentioned in the scam.

The moment arrests start, it means even those who have been instrumental in Uhuru’s government will be dragged to court, the source said.

The DPP is reportedly of the opinion that there is no need of starting to charge people without concrete evidence as there might be witch-hunt in the case as well.

“He does not want a case like where Harake Waqo gave the President the famous list of shame and the people were not found guilty. That thing hurts the Presidnet even today,” our source added.
