A woman and her son are being held at Manga police station for allegedly stealing a motorbike.
According to Morako assistant chief Chris Nyamote, the woman, Mary Nyabonyi and her son, Duke Mocha, stole their neighbor’s motorbike and hid it in their house.
“The neighbor came to me on Monday and reported that the woman and her son had stolen the motorbike.
"We immediately raided the home, searched the house and we found the motorbike hidden at a maize store,” he said.
The administrator said with the help of Nyumba Kumi officials the woman and her son were arrested and frog-marched to Manga police station.
He said the suspects tried to resist arrest but they were beaten up by angry residents to accept to be tied with ropes.
“Locals who think that I will condone criminal activities in the area should relocate from the village or drop their dubious dealings before I catch up with them,” he said.
The chief urged youths to venture into constructive activities which will boost their living standards and shun from engaging in crime to be at the safe side of the law.
He urged parents to stop driving their children to commit crime in the region.
