In an interview on Radio Citizen’s ‘Debe La Citizen’ on Sunday evening, the parliamentarian said that there exists a section of insiders opposed to the direction the party is taking.

He, however, said that the same is allowed, in line with Jubilee’s democracy, adding that any person opposed to its moves is free to air a contrary opinion.

''Siasa si kama kanisa ambapo lazima ufuate unachoambiwa na kasisi. Hii ni nchi huru na chama chetu pia ni huru, kwa hivyo viongozi wetu wana uhuru wa kupinga (our party is free and democratic and whoever is discontented has the liberty to air their opposing opinions),’’ he said.

However, he noted that they must have a rigid stand and not make moves that could shake or portray the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led side in a bad light.

‘’Hata hivyo, viongozi lazima wawe na msimamo (despite the liberty, they must have a common stand),’’ added the lawmaker.

This comes at a time when one of the party’s members and Nandi Hills lawmaker Alfred Keter has opposed the party’s plan to endorse Deputy President William Ruto for the presidency in 2022.

The controversial leader has repeatedly termed the DP unfit, indirectly accusing him of involvement in graft.
