The two reportedly fought at the Hola Township School on Thursday, in what is thought to be a disagreement emerging from a love affair.

The incident is said to have occurred in the full glare of one of the invigilators before the girl was hit and rushed to the hospital.

Area County Director of Education Gitonga Mbaka confirmed the fact that the girl was hospitalized but denied allegations that she was involved in a fight.

He instead said that she was taken ill before the start of the Chemistry theory paper.

"I have no objections of what happened with the girl but I can't confirm or deny what transpired but she was taken to the hospital and she is okay now," he said on Saturday.

The incident was also confirmed by Hola OCS Peter Ekuthi who, however, refused to give more details on the issue.

OCPD Samuel Mutunga was not available for questions.

But according to the paper, the two were separated by an exam supervisor when the fight erupted.
