Several Kenyans and especially the youths need urgent riches. This, however, is different to Janet Jepkorir, a resident of Moi's Bridge, Soy constituency who began her business with just Sh200.
Jepkorir explains that success in business doesn't necessarily means large capital to begin with but much discipline.
With Sh200, she first bought 20 eggs, sold them at Sh18 earning her Sh360 that afternoon. With the day stills early, she looked for another 36 eggs with the money and later sold them at the same price taking home Sh648 on her first day.
She continued with the business and by the end of the week, Jepkorir could collect an average of 500 eggs giving her a return of Sh9,000.
After increasing the number of eggs in a day, Jepkorir says the local market couldn't take it all and so she decided to find a wider market in Eldoret town.
Her new venture didn't pick up at the first week well but after up and down hustle, she found a customer who asked her to supply him with 1,000 eggs weekly but this time around each at Sh15.5.
Together with her earlier savings, Jepkorir managed to collect over 1,500 eggs and in between the week, she had found another customer who could take the remaining eggs at the same selling price.
That week, she made up to Sh23,500 which motivated her to even work harder the following week.
"I want to tell my fellow youths that no matter what capital you have, you can make it. Just be disciplined, patient and most importantly be honest with your customers and you are good to go," she advised.
To date, Jepkorir is a proud supplier of over 3,000 eggs weekly to various end customers at Sh15.5 translating to Sh46,500 weekly.
