Governor Charity Ngilu has supported NASA’ push for creation of people’s assembly across the country saying

that the idea is good as it is for the interest of Kenyans who she says have been allegedly marginalized and denied opportunity to raise their voices.

Speaking to journalists at Maji House in Nairobi after signing the multi-Billion Thwake Dam project on Wednesday, Ngilu said that NASA top leaders are right in push for the assembly.

She stated that Kitui county assembly will not hesitate to pass the motion once it is brought and tabled in the assembly.

“The issue of people’s assembly is within the constitutional framework and Kenyans have a right to be part of association or assemblies,” she said.

Ngilu at the same time hit out at critic’s opposing  push for NASA’s people’s assembly.

She said that the country is a state of confusion that has been caused by Jubilee regime. Ngilu said that the people’s assembly will provide ideas and suggestions on how to address and end political, economic and social injustices that have been allegedly subjected to some communities.

Ngilu  added that the assembly will also push for electoral justice. NASA continues its push for people’s assembly with eight counties already adopting the motion.

Makueni County adopted the people’s assembly motion on Wednesday.

NASA seeks to use the assembly to push for fresh presidential election on grounds that the October 26 repeat presidential election that declared Uhuru Kenyatta  president elect was shambolic
