An Orange Democratic Movement party senator now says Interior Cabinet Secretary could fall from grace should he fail to relate well with people who are not happy with his elevation.
Senator Sam Ongeri, while addressing a gathering at Nyagancha on Friday, said Dr Matiang'i should always consult elders before undertaking major decisions.
He said: "Not very many people are happy with your elevation. There are those now looking for all ways to bring you down. Whatever decisions you make will always matter."
"You must be careful not to fall to their plot. Consult your eldsers like some of us and walk within the law. Failure to do so, things could be rough on your side. Some people are very unhappy I tell you."
Since his elevation as powerful minister in charge of Implementation Sub Committee, Dr Matiang'i visited his Nyamira backyard on Friday where he attended two funerals.
Throughout his speeches, the former Education minister insisted that he will always work closely with all leaders who are ready to follow the rules and regulations of this country.
"You obey the law, you become my friend and it's as simple as that. That is the only way I will help you out. I am however ready to work with all of you."
