Residents of Menyinkwa village in Kisii County are mourning the death of a man who was stabbed to death by his blood brother on Sunday.
The locals said that the suspect, Jimmy Mogaka, quarrel with his young brother Alloys Onserio before stabbing him.
"Mogaka quarrelled with Onserio because Onserio rejected his proposal to sell a piece of land. Mogaka was angered, picked a kitchen knife and stabbed him several times," said a local David Momanyi.
Momanyi who is also the immediate neighbour said Onserio screamed for help after Mogaka escaped leaving him for dead.
"Neighbors including me rushed to the homestead and found the deceased bleeding. We rushed him to hospital but, unfortunately, he died on his way to the hospital," said Momanyi.
Kisii Assistant Police Commander Caleb Matoke said the body of the deceased was moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Morgue.
"The suspect is being traced because he escaped after the stabbing. The public should report him to police anytime they spot him so that he can be arrested," said Matoke.
The police commander appealed to residents to control their anger anytime differences arise to avoid such cases in future.
