Sossion while speaking on Wednesday at Kisii School, insisted that teachers must go on strike so that the government can meet their needs.

“Whoever is saying teachers will not go on strike must be daydreaming. Teachers’ strike will start on September 1, 2018, because the government has taken teachers for granted,” he said.

The vocal ODM nominated MP accused TSC of failing to reward teachers who are hardworking to teach pupils and students in schools.

“TSC has been transferring teachers unnecessary to the hostile environment yet the payment is poor. We want teachers to be reward fairly and the unnecessary transferred to stop. Teachers are human beings who should also work in conducive environments,” he added.

He dismissed KUPPET for opposing teachers’ strike saying KUPPET leadership is rotten and its leaders have been bribed by the government to mislead teachers.

The vocal politician urged teachers to be united and ensure they are out to champion for their rights in the teaching profession.
