Laikipia University students have got all the reasons to smile again following the notice on school re-opening dates.
Following the successfully held school's Senate meeting on April 2 which resolved to end the indefinite closure of the school, students will be required to report back as from April 5.
However, students have been dumbfounded by the strict regulations set by the administration before resuming the studies which include paying Sh1,500 damage fees to cater for what the disastrous strike caused.
The students also will be required to freshly register for the semester and sign a student bond of conduct to confirm loyalty to the University's regulations.
"Present both the national and student identification cards. Pay damage charges Sh1,500 to Equity Bank and sign student bond of conduct - to be downloaded from the website," read in part the circular.
The students, though worried and confused about the essence of the conditions, expressed their gratitude for the timely decision made by the university to ensure learning resumes smoothly.
"We thank the administration for reconsidering our needs because we were to have teaching practice and field practicum as from May," said one of the students.
The closure of the university was as a result of abrupt unrest caused by students claiming the administration was mismanaging the institution after the celebrated annual cultural week was reduced to a one day function.
