A Kisii based politician Don Bosco Gichana reacted after officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) arrested former Starehe MP aspirant Boniface Mwangi.
Gichana who was recently rescued from a Tanzanian prison where he was being held over money laundering condemned the DCI officers saying they arrested a wrong person.
"They've arrested Boniface Mwangi for planning a revolution. That's the wrong person they've arrested. But plans are there," Gichana said through a Facebook post on Monday.
According to Mr Gichana, plans for revolution are there but, Mr Mwangi is not part of those planning the revolution.
Mr Gichana enjoys huge support across Kisii and Nyamira counties with most of the youths being his supporters.
He was rescued recently from a Tanzanian court where he was being held for money laundering offences.
Since he left prison, he has maintained a low profile but, comments on matters of national importance.
He is expected to vie for a political seat in 2022.
During the 2007 general elections before his arrest, he donated a vehicle commonly known as a hammer to the then opposition presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
