The court was told that Terry Anne Usenge molested the 7-year-old boy at her kiosk in Mbwa Kali Estate within Rongo Township on September 13, 2018.

Appearing before Rongo Resident Magistrate Charles Kamau on Tuesday, it was reported that the suspect was found inappropriately touching the boy inside the kiosk.

In his ruling, the judge found the suspect guilty of sexual molestation and jailed her for 10 years, with a 14-day window for an appeal against the ruling.

The suspect was reportedly saved by the police from an irate mob which wanted to lynch her after she was found with the minor, reports Citizen Digital.

Witnesses said that her actions indicated that she had bad intentions.

This comes barely a week after Migori High Court Judge Antony Murima noted that the courts will speed up the hearing of cases revolving around sexual offences.

Speaking during the celebration to mark 16 days of Gender-Based Violence activism, he said that cases of molesting, rape, sodomy and defilement will receive special consideration.
