Susan Wangari Kamaru, wife to the late Kikuyu musician Joseph Kamaru is dead.
This comes barely four months after Kamaru's death.
She died at her daughter's house in Rongai in what has been explained as complications emanating from high blood pressure.
The lady was also battling other ailments related to the disease.
According to one of her sons Boniface Maina, she died at about 10 pm on Saturday after visiting the daughter.
“She died on Saturday at around 10 pm, when she visited my sister in Rongai. Our mother has been ailing for three years and had been treated in various hospitals,” he told the Standard.
The last time the deceased was seen in public was during the late musician's burial ceremony in Heho village, Kigumo.
The event was attended by some of the nation's top political figures including President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga.
Maina added that death followed a series of health problems that saw the family spend a lot of money in search of medical intervention.
She will be buried at her husband's home in Watuha Village in Kangema, Muranga County on Friday.
She was 78.
