Third Way Alliance Party Secretary-General Frederick Okang'o is now blaming the nation's problems on Kenyans' poor decisions in the 2017 presidential elections.
Speaking on Wednesday, Okang'o said that Kenyans made mistakes in picking their leaders, which saw the party boss Ekuru Aukot lose out.
Aukot emerged a distant third in the August 8 elections before again emerging a distant second in the October 26 re-run which was boycotted by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Okang'o argues that Aukot lost because he could not match the political muscles of President Uhuru Kenyatta and that Kenyans ignored his ideologies because he was broke.
He termed it a pity that Aukot was ignored despite offering better leadership which would have bailed the country out of its current issues.
"Aukot alikuwa mmoja wa waliokuwa na msimamo lakini hakuwa na pesa za kupeana. Wakenya wakaamua kuchagua waliowasanya katika makundi na kuwapa pesa (Aukot was among the leaders who had great policies but due to his inability to give money, Kenyans opted for others who mobilised them in groups and gave them money)," he said.
He was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday evening.
Aukot is currently pushing for a reduction of elective seats through his Punguza Mizigo initiative and wants a constitutional amendment to clip off some positions.
