A section of Jubilee Party allied MPs in Uasin Gishu now want the party's Secretary-General Raphael Tuju to resign with immediate effect.
This comes after damning leaked phone call between him and former MP George Nyanja recently where among other things, they discussed Deputy President William Ruto's role in Jubilee Party primaries in 2017.
Led by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and his Kesses counterpart Dr Swarup Mishra, the MPs condemned Tuju's utterances saying it amounted to incitement and might raise the political temperatures in the country.
"As leaders from the North Rift region, we are disappointed with his leadership and we are giving him 24 hours to resign failure to which we will kick him out of the party, " said Dr Mishra.
Sudi on his part said that Tuju is no longer fit to lead Jubilee because his "heart is still in ODM".
"Tuju is not fit to lead our party. He just came to Jubilee Party for a job but his heart is still in ODM. We will not allow having a Secretary-General who betrays the government," charged Sudi noting that "you should resign for a competent person to take your position."
The two were speaking at Wareng High school during the Kapseret constituency football tournament on Sunday.
They noted that Tuju has no right to make such statements against DP Ruto saying that the Jubilee Party boss is a "disgrace."
The two legislators have since asked Tuju to tender an apology to the DP.
