MPs who attended were divived over the presidential trip scheduled on January 23rd and 24th in Kisii and Nyamira respectively with those allied to Ruto demanding to be served with itinerary of the president before giving their input.

The trip will also bring on board ODM leader Raila Odinga also expected to attend even as participation of DP Ruto remains a major doubt.

"It was friendly fire and nothing really big. Those supporting Ruto lead some malice in the trip with some demanding that Ruto should be invited officially. North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko wanted an assurance that Ruto would attend," said a source privy to the details of the meeting.

But Nyamira Senator Okong'o Mogeni wondered by the Ruto's team was concerned with the itinerary yet the DP has been launching projects in the region in absence of the president.

Okong'o reportedly said: "We can't dictate State House. As far as I know, Ruto has been launching imagery projects around but nobody has ever asked to be involved from our side. Let's allow the president and Raila do what they deem fit for the country."

Governors John Nyagarama and James Ongwae would later manage to stamp authority in the meeting where they unanimously agreed to have all projects that would be launched listed in the supplimentary budget that is due to be tabled in parliament.

With virtually all MPs from the two counties supporting Ruto's bid, Governors Nyagarama and Ongwae along with Senators Sam Ongeri and Okong'o Mogeni, are close foot soldiers of Mr Odinga.
