Disabled persons in Kisii County have begged Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to launch a crackdown and flush out disabled foreigners thronging Kisii town to beg for money from members of the public.
Led by Michael Onwong'a, the disabled people said there is no disabled person from Kisii County who is begging for money in within Kisii town.
"No one of us begs people to give money. The people we are seeing around Kisii town are foreigners who have been imported from a neighbouring country Tanzania by some cartels with an aim get money from the public," said Onwong'a.
He insisted that there is a need for the Matiang'i to ensure disabled people in Kisii town are flushed out.
"We trust Matiang'i and therefore, call upon him to launch a crackdown to deport the fake disabled persons from Kisii town," he added.
Mary Kemunto another disabled person condemned cartels importing disabled persons to make money out of them.
"Disabled people are human beings who must be respected. Those taking advantage of people living with disability must be cursed and condemned," she noted.
