Through his Director of Communications Emmanuel Tallam, the DP dismissed the reports as fake, adding that it was the work of propagandists seeking to drive a certain agenda.

“That JKIA story is fake. It is a creation of rumour-peddlers of fake news keen to sustain a hopeless narrative,” said Tallam as quoted by the Standard.

Media reports on Friday indicated that the DP confronted Kibicho at the airport a few minutes before President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived from Rwanda where he had attended an ICT conference.

According to the reports, Ruto wanted to know why Kibicho was frustrating his official tours in various parts of the country.

He accused the influential PS of instructing county commissioners and police commanders to snub his functions, the latest being last weekend's tour of Turkana County.

The DP is said to have warned Kibicho against interfering with the work of provincial administrators and reminded him to 'stay on his lane'.

Those who reportedly witnessed the incident include Chief of Defense Forces General Samson Mwathethe, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai and Kieni MP Kanini Kega.

“Everyone present including the service commanders were taken by surprise. Nobody uttered a word as the lecture by the visibly angry Ruto continued,” a source told the People Daily.
