In a tweet on her official handle, the governor thanked the president for believing and having confidence in the local production in the country. She assured that the Kitui County Textile Centre (KICOTEC) was ready for the job and would deliver all uniforms as expected.

"We thank H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta for showing confidence in local production and supporting home grown solutions. We shall deliver uniforms to Chiefs and their assistants countrywide. We have the capacity. Tuko tayari," Ngilu tweeted

During the launch of biometric Huduma number registration in Masii, Machakos County, President Kenyatta directed KICOTEC to produce all uniforms for chiefs and their assistants in the country.

The president’s order humbled the governor who sees it as a boost for local productions in the country.

Ngilu on Wednesday visited the company in an inspection exercise meant to ensure it is ready for the job bestowed to it by the head of state.
