1. Small businesses

There are a wide variety of small business opportunities the youths can take advantage of. The most famous in Kenya is selling of second-hand clothes also known as mitumba. This business does not require a big capital to start. You can go to Gikomba market and pick some few pieces of clothes and then resell at a higher price making profits. For example, you can pick fifty pieces of men's t-shirts at thirty shillings each and resell at sixty shillings each making one hundred per cent profit. The only challenge in this business is identifying a busy market with many target customers. If you are in Nairobi you can try Kangemi, Kawangware, Mathare among other estates. 

2. Online writing

This has also become a famous means of making money among students and fresh graduates. Even Kenyan government through ICT cabinet secretary Hon. Mucheru began Ajira Digital to promote online jobs in Kenya and training youths to take advantage of various online jobs including writing instead of sitting back and waiting for a lucrative job which never comes. 3. Betting

Even though it is a risky business, many Kenyans are earning a living through betting with the most famous betting site being sportpesa.
