Wiper Party Vice chairman Victor Swanya rubbished the meeting saying the Jubilee allied lawmakers should put the interests of Kenyans first.

"It is time the Jubilee MPs should show President Kenyatta that they are serving poor Kenyans and not him. I am requesting Jubilee MPs to reject the 8% fuel tax," he said.

Former Bonchari MP Protus Kebati said the meeting will be fruitful.

"Uhuru will end up convincing the MPs to support his new proposal on fuel tax. Kenyans will continue paying more on fuel," he said.

Kebati regretted that Jubilee MPs will succumb to pressure from the Head of State to side with him.

A Kisii based politician Steve Arika said the Jubilee MPs can't fail President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"There is no way the lawmakers can come out of State House and disown President Kenyatta. Uhuru's new proposal on fuel tax must sail through," he said.
