Funyula lawmaker Wilberforce Oundo has admitted that destroying the ruling Jubilee Party is one of the main plans by the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Speaking on Tuesday, the MP termed the mission as one of the reasons that informed ODM leader Raila Odinga's truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta early last year.
However, he noted that the same is also aimed at slaying the corruption monster which seems to be milking the nation dry through recurrent scandals and sagas.
The parliamentarian was speaking in an interview on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Tuesday morning.
"It's true that we united with Jubilee to help it rid the nation of the runaway corruption. But at the same time we also want to kill Jubilee because we are a political party anyway," he said.
He added that the union between the two national leaders was inevitable at a time when Uhuru was taking the medal as the most corrupt regime since independence.
He added that the other plan was to stabilize the nation at a time when it was heavily polarized thanks to the heavily contested 2017 presidential elections pitting the two.
"We have not joined Jubilee. The plan was to eliminate corruption and stabilize our nation. However, more will come in 2022 as now we would rather stay off politics," he added.
Raila has however repeatedly denied claims that he is out for Jubilee's destruction despite such accusations being heaped on him by Deputy President William Ruto.
