Police in Narok are probing an incident where a police officer reportedly shot and killed his lover.
The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday night after the two landed in an argument in Kibera Estate, Narok County.
The woman is said to have lost her temper and stabbed the policeman with a knife on the head.
In retaliation, the officer is suspected to have reacted by shooting her with his gun, killing her instantly.
Confirming the incident, Transmara West OCPD David Wambua said that the woman sustained serious injuries on the neck resulting from the shot, reports the Citizen Digital on Thursday.
The officer was rushed to the Transmara Sub-County hospital and later moved to the Kisii Level Five Hospital where he is recovering.
The body of the woman was taken to the St. Joseph Mission Hospital Mortuary.
In another incident, a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) is nursing a dog bite after a rabid dog bit her on her way home from school.
Mary Muthoni who is a student at Nguthuru Secondary School in Kandara, Muranga County encountered the stray dog on Tuesday, two weeks after her sister succumbed to rabies.
Confirming the incident, Muranga County Police Commander Mohammed Farah urged residents to the police for proper measures to be taken.
“Once the report is made the government agencies will effectively deal with the matter,” he is quoted by the Standard on Thursday.
