Shocked residents claimed that the deceased Job Obare could not withstand the humiliation and shame from his wife Josephine Moraa.

"Moraa divorced Obare on grounds that he was poor in bed and was not able to provide her needs and their 3 kids. He locked himself in the house on Saturday afternoon and used a rope to end his life," said a local Cyrus Oteyo.

Area assistant Pius Makori attributed the man's death to anger.

"Moraa packed all her belongings and left to her parents' home with the 3 kids and this angered the deceased leading him to commit suicide," he said.

Makori urged men to stop ending their own lives but, seek spiritual guidance whenever they are faced with challenges.

He warned women against giving their husbands trouble in marriage.

"Women should take good care of their husbands and stop bringing trouble in marriage," added the chief.

The chief said the deceased body was moved to Kisii Teaching and referral hospital morgue.
