Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim is among politicians who have in a way found themselves in controversy.
On September 30, 2016, Maalim found himself in trouble after he was involved in a physical fight with a former Somali Telecommunication Minister, Mohamed Mursa at a Nairobi hotel.
Maalim and the former Minister were captured on camera exchanging blows as waiters at the top city hotel watched in disbelief.
In the CCTV footage, the two were captured throwing punches at each other in front of hotel staff who were seen trying to intervene.
It was not clear why the two top leaders exchanged blows and embarrassed themselves.
The two were escorted out by police who launched investigations into the incident.
Maalim in subsequent interviews has often refused to divulge what transpired resulting to the fight with the former Minister.
Police investigations into the embarrassing incident have never been made public.
Maalim, now the Wiper Party deputy leader is in the political cold after losing bid for the Garissa parliamentary seat in 2017.
There are however claims that he will contest for the seat in 2022.
