Miguna said that the blogger is innocent. The activist-cum-politician said that Alai is only a victim of circumstance. His remarks come after the office of the DCI asked the court to hold him for 30 more days after he shared photos from a terror attack scene.

“Alai has not committed any crime known to law. He is not a terrorist. There is absolutely no credible evidence that he colluded with the Al-Shabab in publishing pictures of Kenyans killed in combat. What Alai does may offend some people. But it is not a criminal offence," he tweeted.

Miguna also said that he doesn’t get along well with the blogger but he is ready to defend him. He said that Alai is like any other Kenyan and he deserves better treatment.

"Mr. @RobertAlai and I don't get along despite both of us hailing from Nyando Constituency and sharing an alma mater - Onjiko Secondary School. However, I will defend to death his UNFETTERED rights to free thought, conscience and expression. #ReleaseRobertAlai #DespotsMustFall," he added.

The blogger has since pulled down the photos after he was arrested pending investigations into his links to the terror militia.  Alai has, however, insisted that he did nothing wrong.
