Cases of night fires at the Gikomba market are no longer strange news in Nairobi. When on Wednesday the city woke up to a huge cloud of smoke courtesy of the burning market, it failed to elicit the usual emotions.
The fire that broke out Wednesday morning but the Nairobi county fire brigade moved in swiftly to contain it.
However, one question on the lips of everyone is: why the constant fire outbreaks?
In June, 15 people lost their lives after another fire incident razed down stalls and houses at the market.
Other fire incidents at the market occurred on September 10, 2017, before another one on October 6, the same year.
Similar incidents occurred in 2014 and 2015.
The question is, could these fires be a hand of someone?
