A 27-year-old man was on Tuesday afternoon arrested in Gesieri village in Nyamira County for allegedly locking up a form four girl in his house.
Nyamira District OCPD Lilis Wachira confirmed the incident and said the suspect identified as Clinton, lured the girl from her parents' home in Omokonge on Monday while she was returning back to Nyamaiya Secondary school.
"The girl has been on half term for the last one week. Clinton lured her into his house when he found her returning back to school and locked her up," said the OCPD.
Wachira said the girl's brother who went to pay school fees, found that she was not in school.
"The girl's brother upon asking teachers whether the girl arrived in school on Monday, realized that the girl was not anywhere to be seen. Immediately police officers were notified and launched a search for the girl," he added.
He said the girl was traced into the rider's house where she was found locked.
"Police arrested the two lovebirds and they are currently held at Nyamira police station," noted Wachira.
