Lawyer Miguna Miguna has poured cold water on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s State of the Nation address.
The Self-Proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader said that the address is a mere public relations stunt.
He insisted that the Jubilee regime has failed the people of this nation, and urged Kenyans to stand up against the current leadership before the economy collapses.
“I didn't, haven't and won’t listen to Uhuru Kenyatta say the same things he has been saying for the past 8 years and give empty and insulting promises of "dealing with corruption" when even three year olds know that he is the dean of the Kenyan Mafia,” he said through his official Twitter handle.
In his speech, Uhuru promised to address a number of issues affecting tax payers.
One of the key areas he emphasized on is the fight against corruption. He insisted that he will not relent in the war against the vice before he leaves power.
He also promised to support different sectors of the economy include Small and Micro Enterprises (SMEs) in various regions of the country during his remaining term in office.
“My Administration recognises the role played by micro, small and medium enterprises in spurring the development of our country. The sector, employs approximately 14.9 million Kenyans and contributes an estimated 28 % of our GDP," said Uhuru.
