Water supply has been restored in various estates in Nakuru town that have been without water for the last one week.
This was after Nakuru Water Sewerage and Services Company (NAWASSCO) technical team completed repair works on a damaged main pipe late Monday evening.
Residents of Freehold, Racecourse, parts of Kivumbuni , Langalanga among other estates started receiving water from 10.00pm.
A NAWASSCO officer privy to repair works said that the water surge had been occasioned by the damage caused by an excavator belonging to Chinese construction company that is working on a bypass road in Biashara ward of Nakuru east sub-county.
On Monday residents of Langalanga estate took to the streets because of the water shortage accusing the water provider of failing to provide an explanation as to why water was unavailable.
A 20 litres jerry can of water was being sold at Sh30.
Water supply to Nakuru town is expected to receive a major boost upon completion of the Shs 38 billion Italian government funded Itare dam located in Kuresoi north Sub County.
