Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa edged out Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho as the most covered politician from the Coast region in national politics.
This is according to the latest poll by Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA) which was released on Wednesday.
According to the poll, Jumwa who has been in the news following her decision to decamp from ODM to Jubilee Party is the fifth most covered politician at 3.13 per cent.
She ranks behind Deputy President William Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
A key member of pro-Ruto political grouping, 'Team Tanga Tanga,' Jumwa has emerged as the DP's biggest political asset even as he aims to cast his political net wide ahead of the bruising 2022 presidential contest.
With Joho remaining a loyal Raila follower, the battle between him and Jumwa over the control of the Coast region heading into the next election will no doubt be one of the biggest political battles expected to ensue in the coming days.
With the TIFA ranking, the legislator has gotten that precious headstart in her bid to swing the region into Ruto's camp.
