A man caused a stir Sunday morning after he undressed and walked along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
The unidentified man seemed ‘normal’ and was unperturbed by curious city folks who were stunned by his stunt.
With the age of the Internet and mobile phone, city dwellers flashed out their phones and took pictures of the man.
At one moment, he posed for three girls who were not ashamed of his nakedness and instead took photos with their smartphones as they smiled sheepishly.
Some Kenyans went ahead to share the photos on social media.
It was not clear why Nairobi’s notorious kanjos were not pouncing on the man despite the city being run by stiff laws on public display of affection as well as nudity.
At the posta matatu stage, a group of men was heard trying to dissect whether the man was sick or just a manifestation of a sick society.
In the African context, nudity is one of the most guarded of man’s belongings.
Why one of them would wake up and decide to splash it out to a starry-eyed city remains a puzzle.
