The ongoing troubles between Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Homabay seems to be getting out of hand.

Odinga has repeatedly attacked the group which has for the last few months been locked in an in-assembly row as a group engages Speaker Elizabeth Ayoo.

On Saturday, the African Union Infrastructure Development Envoy was left to feel the pinch when the parliamentarians decided to hit back.

Consequently, around 95 percent of the 58 members snubbed him when he presided over the homecoming ceremony of Rangwe lawmaker Lilian Gogo.

Only 3 members; Elias Orondo (East Gem), Sophie Salim (Nominated) and Charles Awino of Gem West attended the event at Omoche Primary School in the county.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party chief could not hide his disappointment, considering that majority of the members are in office courtesy of the party.

“This is a county where the majority of MCAs belong to my party. I expected to meet them here,” he was quoted by the Standard.

Confirming the same, Rusinga Ward Representative Okuku Miregi said that they indeed snubbed Raila over the assembly politics which have split the members into two.

In October, the majority group of members went ahead and ousted Speaker Ayoo before she was reinstated by the Kisumu Labour Relations Court.

Protesting the unending assaults on her, members allied to the Speaker have since called upon county boss Cyprian Awiti to dissolve the assembly, threatening to resign if it is not done.
